Bicycle Education Instructor Training
We base the content of our training on years of experience as the preferred provider of Bike Ed Instructor Training, a collective experience gathered from numerous school and adult programs, and the wisdom offered by many seasoned instructors. We aim to ensure that your programs are well-planned and implemented, enjoyable, and safe for all participants.
The training will clarify your role, provide a roadmap for success, and ensure safety in various riding environments, age groups and skill levels, from mountain biking to urban and road cycling. We guide participants through the logistics of planning and preparation, including equipment, ensure helmets fit correctly, highlight the usual supply and maintenance issues, and provide simple fixes and solutions.
Cycling can service your bike fleet to ensure it is ready to go, or assist on ‘bike check’ days. Please contact us for more information, or to check availability.
Given the finite nature of knowledge and the boundless expanse of ignorance, it's evident that many bike accidents result from a lack of understanding, knowledge, or failure to predict a potential chain of events and the outcome. When running their own programs, our participants are taught the importance of focusing on the individual within the group. Neglecting seemingly minor aspects, such as proficiency, equipment usage, environmental assessment, or understanding one's capabilities, can significantly compromise safety.
Progressively developing a students' skill level, knowledge, and understanding is fundamental to safe riding practices. The ability of an individual to predict, recognise, identify, and safely respond to a potentially dangerous situation is often based on habit, a reaction that has become second nature. This fundamental aspect underpins all successful training and assessment, indicating the individual's reliability to manage the situation successfully.
Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Accreditation, which is recommended for biking activities off-campus.
Participants gain access to comprehensive Cycling Safe resources, including manuals, instructor guides, skill development tips, equipment checklists, and ongoing support to ensure success in their bicycle programs.
